Statoxservice LLC · dba STATOX Handyman Services
Terms of service
These terms apply when you use statoxservice.com, request a quote, book a visit online, or hire STATOX for a job.
"STATOX," "we," and "us" mean Statoxservice LLC, doing business as STATOX Handyman Services, Los Angeles, California. You can reach us by email at support@statoxservice.com. "You" means the person using the site or hiring us.
By using our site or hiring us, you agree to these terms. Your written quote for a job is part of this agreement. If your written quote and these terms say different things about that job, the written quote applies.
1. What we do
STATOX is a handyman service in the Los Angeles area. We send a handyman from our team to your home for jobs such as:
- small repairs;
- TV mounting;
- painting;
- drywall repair;
- tile work;
- bathroom repairs and updates;
- furniture assembly;
- cleaning;
- flooring.
The areas we serve are listed on our site.
2. Jobs we do ourselves and jobs we refer
STATOX is a handyman service. Small repairs and updates are quoted as one flat price in writing. We do not take on large construction or remodeling projects, or work that needs a building permit, as a handyman job. With your OK, we can pass such a job to a partner contractor, who gives you their own written quote and agreement before any work starts. We do not split a project into smaller jobs to avoid a permit.
3. Quotes and prices
- One flat price in writing. Before any work starts, you get one flat price in writing. We base it on your photos and description, or on a look at the job at your home.
- No published prices. We do not publish prices on our site. Send photos and a short description, and we reply with one flat price in writing. Your written quote is the price you pay for the work it describes.
- Hourly work. Some jobs, like furniture assembly, are priced by the hour. Your written quote shows the hourly rate and any minimum. We estimate the hours from your photos, and you approve them before we start. We do not go past the approved hours without your OK in writing. If the job takes less time, you pay for less time, but never less than the minimum in your quote.
- "In writing" includes a text message.
4. Materials
Materials are charged at receipt cost. That means you pay what we paid, with no markup, and we show you the receipts.
If you supply your own items, such as a TV mount or flat-pack furniture, please make sure they are complete and right for the job. We are not responsible for defects in items we did not supply.
5. Changes to the job
- If we find something on site that changes the work or the price, we stop and tell you before doing more.
- Any change to the scope or price must be agreed in writing before the extra work starts.
- If you do not agree to the change, we pack up. You owe nothing for the extra work. If we already finished part of the work you approved, you pay only for that part. If you booked online, our booking terms also apply.
6. Payment
- You pay after the job is done. We do not charge a deposit or take any payment before the work at this time.
- Today we accept Zelle and cash. If we add card payments by secure link, they will be processed by Stripe.
- The balance is due when the job is complete. We give you a written receipt.
7. Online booking
You can book a specific day and a two-hour arrival window online. Here is a summary:
- Booking a window online is a request; the window is held once we confirm it with you.
- Booking is free: we do not charge a deposit at this time. If we start taking a deposit in the future, it will apply only to online bookings for a specific day and window, it will be credited to your job total, and we will show it before you book.
- Please tell us as early as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule.
- If the written price at your home is higher than the estimate from photos, you can decline and you owe nothing.
- You pay the balance after the job.
The full rules are in our booking terms.
8. Your home and the work area
- Please make sure we can get in and reach the work area during your arrival window. An adult (18 or older) should be home or should arrange access for us.
- Please clear the work area and keep pets in another room.
- Tell us about anything we should know, such as pipes or wires inside a wall, building or HOA rules, or parking limits. Getting HOA or building approval is your responsibility.
- Older homes. If your home was built before 1978, tell us before any painting, sanding, or drywall work. Work that disturbs old paint in homes built before 1978 is quoted separately and planned under the federal lead-safe rules; tell us before we quote.
- If we find materials that may contain asbestos, signs of mold, or unsafe wiring, we stop work in that area and tell you.
9. If something is not right
If you are not happy with our work, tell us as soon as you can and send photos. We will look into it and reply in writing with what we can do.
10. Texts and electronic records
If you agreed to texts, you agree that we may send your quotes, receipts, and job records by text message. If you did not, we give you these documents on paper at your home. Our texts about your request and your job are described in our SMS terms. Marketing texts go out only to people who opt in to them separately. You do not have to agree to texts to hire us. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts.
11. Promotions
If we offer a promotion code, the offer shows its terms. Unless the offer says otherwise, a discount applies to labor only and not to materials, and codes cannot be combined.
12. Using our website
- Information on our site is general. It is not professional advice for your home.
- Unless an image is labeled as a photo of our work, the images on our site are illustrations, not photos of our completed jobs.
- Please do not misuse the site. Do not send false requests, spam, or harmful files, and do not try to break or overload the site.
- The text, logos, and design of our site belong to us. Please do not copy them for commercial use.
- Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for those sites.
- We work to keep the site accurate and available, but it may contain errors or be unavailable at times. Your written quote controls over anything on the site.
13. Limitation of liability
We work with care. To the fullest extent allowed by law:
- our total liability for any claim relating to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost income or loss of use;
- we are not liable for delays caused by events outside our control, such as severe weather, building access problems, or supply delays.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under California law. That includes liability for fraud, willful harm, violation of law, or injury or death caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under California consumer protection laws.
14. Your legal right to cancel
Some contracts come with a legal right to cancel. For example, under California law, a contract for goods or services of twenty-five dollars or more that you agree to at your home can usually be canceled until midnight of the third business day after you sign it, or the fifth business day if you are 65 or older. When the law gives you a right to cancel, your written quote or contract will include the required notice and cancellation form, and we will honor it.
15. Disputes and governing law
- If you have a problem, please contact us first. We will try to solve it within 30 days.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
- Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California. Either of us may also use small claims court.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. The terms in effect when you accepted your written quote apply to that job.
17. General
If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
